Grafting fruit trees: scion wood is tied onto rootstock, different fruit varieties on plates, and cut scion wood with pruning shears in the snow.

Grafting workshop – theory and practice

As part of the workshop, we will learn together with Wilhelm Tartler (Melikoleg Association) how to graft. At the end of the day, you can take home young trees grafted by yourselves, ready to be planted in the garden.

Rootstocks and scion wood of traditional apple and pear varieties from Transylvania are available. Participants can also bring scion wood of their preferred varieties.

12:00–13:00 Lunch break

A tasty meal made from regional and seasonal ingredients will be provided

  • Presentation of the materials
